What's on: December

Dates for December
Sunday 2nd Meeting for Worship and Children’s Meeting 10.30 am followed by Local Meeting for Business at 12 noon. Items include reports from Elders and Overseers, Resources Committee, Archives and Library as well as Saffron Walden’s annual report. We will also be receiving new nominations for 2019 onwards. All welcome.
ALSO
Churches Together Advent Carol Service at St Marys, 6:30 pm. It is always well attended with all the local churches participating.
Tuesday 4th Discussion group, for people of faith & none (Christian & No religion, Muslim & Hindu,Sikh & Buddhist, Jewish & Other religions)

‘Festivals of Light’ 6.30 to 7.30/8pm Parish Hall, 2 Castle Street, Saffron Walden.

Wednesday 5th Experiment with Light group, 10.30 am in the Long Room
Sunday 9th Meeting for Worship and Children’s Meeting 10.30 am
followed by
Area Meeting at 12.45pm at Stansted Meeting House
Among the other items we will be considering are appointments for the coming year as well as hearing about the commemorations of the
80th anniversary of the Kindertransport. The Meeting will follow a light lunch provided by Stansted Friends. Please let Jane Mitchell or Sue Moloney know if you would like lunch.
Monday 10th Distant Healing group. 10.00 am in the Long Room

Sunday 16th Meeting for Worship and Children’s Meeting 10.30 am followed by
Christmas lunch at 12.00. All are welcome to come, and to bring partners and families and enjoy this occasion for fellowship. It will be a simple lunch of homemade soups with bread and cheese, followed by mince pies and fruit, the idea being that instead of a lavish meal, people will remember those who are destitute and feel moved to donate generously to Quaker Homeless Action for the Christmas Shelter
Sunday 23rd Meeting for Worship 10.30 am No formal Children’s Meeting.

Tuesday 25th Christmas Day There will be a half hour Meeting for Worship on Christmas Day, starting at 10.30am. There is no Children's Meeting on that Day, but children are welcome to join the adult Meeting for Worship.

Thursday 10th The next book group is on 10th January at FMH......A Room of my Own by Virginia Woolf.......7.30. 

Saturday 26th We will be holding another Death Cafe at Stansted Meeting House. 11.00 to 12.30. Please contact Gill Parker or Sue Moloney.
We have lost a number of Friends through death over the last few months. Friends might like to think of sharing the issues these have raised with each other.
