Interfaith group, 6.30 till 8.00pm. 2 Castle St. Catholic church hall. 100 HEARTS, 100 YEARS, 100 DAYS OF PRAYER. THE GREAT WAR - “THE WAR TO END ALL WARS” AND PEACE IN OUR TIME?

Elena Ferranti – ‘My Brilliant Friend’

Friday 9th Joanna Eden is giving a concert. Local friend and busy singer/songwriter Joanna Eden will be performing at Saffron Walden Meeting House on Friday 9th November at 7.30pm.  She will intersperse her original songs with covers by her favourite artists, Joni Mitchell, Carole King, The Beatles and many more.  Joanna will also talk about the relationship between her music and becoming a Quaker.  All are welcome.  Admission is free and refreshments will be available.  To avoid disappointment, seats can be reserved online at www.joannaeden.net There will be a voluntary collection for the DEC Indonesia Tsunami Appeal.

Also Concert in Saffron Hall organised by the UNA 3pm
SAFFRON WALDEN SYMPHON ORCHESTRA. RICHARD HULL conductor. CHLOE BERESFORD-JONES soprano. In association with the Saffron Walden branch of the United Nations Association, Saffron Walden Symphony Orchestra will present an Armistice Day concert to commemorate the centenary of the end of the Great War.

We will also be joined by Katie Calvert of Quaker Homeless Action who will speak to us about the new plan for Quaker Open Christmas this year. She will talk to us after Meeting for Worship and then join us for the shared lunch.

Wednesday 21st UNA talk – Dame Shirley Williams “1918 to 2018 – 100 years on, Striving for peace” 7.30 till 9.00 at Saffron Walden High School.
