THIS MONTH'S EVENTS:
Tuesday 2th 'What is... No Religion' TBC, by Shawn Martin ('Inter Faith Group for NW Essex' Administrator), 2, Castle Street 6.30 to 7.30
Wednesday 3rd CHAT in the Tea room 10.30 till 12.00
Monday 8th, The Healing group (Friends Fellowship of Healing) will meet from 10 till 11.00am. in the Meeting House. Please note the winter timing.
Sunday 14th Area Meeting (postponed from December) at 12.45. The agenda will include appointments for 2018, the annual report from our Meeting as well as that of Area Meeting Elders and Overseers plus a workshop on ‘shapeshifting and living adventurously within our Area Meeting’ and more . Attenders are most welcome to attend.
The Meeting will follow a Bring and Share lunch. Please bring something to share and meet people from the other Local Meetings over lunch.
The Area Meeting is the primary meeting for church affairs in Britain Yearly Meeting, giving opportunities for fellowship and spiritual development. As well as maintaining our local community of Friends, those attending can broaden their acquaintance with wider Quaker affairs. If you are an attender, please tell me Gill Parker, or one of the clerks if you would like to attend.

Tuesday 23rd. Book Group 7.30 pm. at Judith’s, 10 Peaslands Road. We are reading 'The Little Red Chairs' by Edna O’Brian. To be confirmed.
Sunday 28th 12 noon. Local Meeting for Business.
The usual Quaker Faith and Practice Study group will now take place in February. You may like to prepare by studying chapter 22.
Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
Thursday 18th January Agape Meal. United Reformed Church Hall, Abbey Lane
6:30 for 7:00 pm.
A good opportunity to meet members of the other churches over a simple meal.
It would help if they know numbers in advance,- please let Val Bowtle know (firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone (01799) 526271); alternatively if you let John Capper know he will pass the information on).
Sunday 21st January United Service at the Baptist Church 10:30 am. During the Service John Searle Barnes will sign the Churches Together Covenant on our behalf.
There will be activities in the church hall for pre-school children. Older children will attend the service for the first 20 minutes before leaving for other activities.
Thursday 25th January Lunchtime Prayer event 12:00 noon. The Baptist Minister, John Goddard, would like to know numbers (email@example.com Tel: 07548 525646).
I hope some of us will be able to join in with some of these events. You may remember how successful the Agape Meal was a year or two ago when we hosted it ourselves.
